VH Bear Byte:

The Vine Hill Community joined SVEF Food Truck Friday on August 24th for a Back to School get together at Skypark.   Families celebrated the start of a great new school year. We look forward to many more celebrations throughout the year!

From the Eagle’s Roost:

At Brook Knoll, we would like to welcome all new students, families, and staff members to Brook Knoll’s 2018-2019 school year.  We are so lucky to have Patricia Dyc-O’neal (3rd grade), Matt Schwarberg (4th grade), Gus Balla (4th grade), Jen Lane (2nd grade), Heidi Reynolds (SDC), and JoAnn Tassone (EL) as new teachers.

Our first Monday Morning Assembly was a large success.  Our new students had the opportunity to learn BK’s ‘School Rules’ (Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be Respectful) and we all sang our beautiful school song.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped clean up the campus over the summer.  A special thank you to Lindsay Rice for organizing our beautification efforts and for taking the lead on our new mural.

The Dolphin’s Dish:

What a great start to the school year!  With our ever transforming campus, students and staff easily transitioned into our new and improved campus.  With a brand new Quad, students are enjoying increased access to campus spaces and we are all pleased to have occupied four additional classrooms for our first day back. We even had our first “Music in the Quad” which was met with enthusiasm and excitement by our students.

Our website is full of information and the online calendar is up to date!  Please check it out for important updates and information.  We are looking forward to an awesome year!

From the Falcon’s Nest:

SVHS Art teacher, Craig Bowie, is the featured artist at First Friday in Downtown Santa Cruz this week.  Mr. Bowie is in his second year as teacher of fine arts at the Falcon's Nest, and he is an accomplished artist in his own right.  Truly an inspiring individual, we are fortunate to have him foster creativity in our students.
