About Educational Services Departments

The Educational Services department of Scotts Valley Unified School District is made up of two departments.  These two departments oversee the following programs and services:

 

Student Support Services/Special Education:

  • Special Education
  • State and Federal Programs such as Title I, Title II, English Language Learner (ELL), Safe and Drug Free Schools and Teacher Professional Development
  • School Nursing and related student health programs

Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment:

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES/SPECIAL EDUCATION

Welcome to the Student Support Services Department!  We oversee Special Education, the Student Study Team process, 504 programs, Alternative Education, Counseling Services, Student Health, Child Welfare and Attendance, Foster Youth, Homeless Students, Student Safety and Discipline, Home and Hospital Instruction, Inter/Intra District Transfers, Positive Behavior Interventions Supports, and Special Circumstances Instructional Assistance.  The Director of Student Support Services serves as liason with state and local agencies supporting the delivery of supports, and collaborates with administrators and teachers to effect responsible, compliant, and robust programs.

CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION, AND ASSESSMENT

The Instructional Services Department is designed to meet the curriculum, instructional, and assessment requirements to support the needs of the students, staff and parents in the Scotts Valley Unified School District. The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment collaborates with district administrators, teachers, students and parents to help support Common Core State Standards as well as a rigorous and engaging instructional program.
